Chains and punk make a comeback.
2020 sees the return of the punk look, a trend that also extends to jewellery. Chains are the musthave items this season, both in a glamorous style and a wilder, more industrial look, consisting of overlapping layers of necklaces and bracelets. There is also a predominance of torque-style necklaces, in the form of a rigid, circular collar. Long earrings are all the rage, either made up of shiny threads or drops of metal, while large, hoop earrings are also still very much in fashion. Many designers have focused on asymmetry, with the choice of either wearing a single earring, or of combining two different types, such as a hoop and a pendant. Another interesting trend is the return of the anklet, especially in the minimal form of a chain; this comes in a variety of forms, ranging from the Venetian to the Forzatina style. The final, luxury accessory is a stylish headdress, ornately fringed with Swarovski crystals.
